Curly hair gives a feminine look to the women and makes them look sexy and appealing. This style is not much in fashion but still there are many women wish to have curly hair. Perking and rolling are two artificial methods to curl the hair, but they harm they damage the hair. It is not possible to make the hair straight after curling them by using these artificial methods. There are some natural methods to curl the hair which can be adopted.
Natural Methods for making Curly Hair
There are many methods for curling hair naturally but the hair has to be prepared well before adopting any of the methods. Hair should be washed clean using an herbal shampoo. Apply a good conditioner focusing it more at the ends. Pat and dry the hair by twisting them in a towel to remove the excess water. Then comb them with a wide tooth comb to remove the tangles. Now apply a leave –in-conditioner to make the hair smooth strong and flexible.
Curl Enhancing Gel
Curl enhancing styling gel can be applied after piling the hair into a bun and securing it withan elastic clutch or clip. Leave it to dry. Let the hair lose before going out to see a nice curly hair style. It is advisable to use herbal gels instead of chemical based gels which may harm the hair.
Hair Scrunching
A permed look to the hair can be given by rolling the hair onto a hair brush tightly and leaving it to dry naturally. This natural method of curling is popularly known as hair scrunching. Hair curled by this method look voluminous.
Making Hair Bun
A bun can be made after shampooing the hair and leave it to dry. A blow dryer can be used on the bun to get curls faster. But blow drying should not be done frequently as it tends to damage the hair. The bun can be tied in the upward direction and left for some time to get curls. This a perfect method to get curls naturally without damaging the hair.
Braiding the hair for curls
Divide damp hair into sections and braid each section tightly. The size of the braid will depend on the size of the curl desired. If tight curls are required 5-6 braids need to be made all over the head. Make the braid tightly till the end and secure the end of each braid with a clip or elastic band. The braiding should be done near the crown to ensure curls that start from the middle of the head and go down.These braids can be left overnight to dry or dried with a blow dryer. The braids should undo carefully to release the curls. Strands of hair can be separated with the fingers as a comb or brush may remove the curls. Apply a hair spray that is not sticky to fix the curls.
Curls made by using rag curlers
Make about12 cloth strips that are 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. These strips can be easily made but cutting an old pillow case. Six strips have to be used to curl the top layer of the hair and six strips for the bottom layer. The first layer of curls will consist of two sections on each side of the head and two sections at the back. Perform this process on wet hair. Take a small section of hair away from the face. Roll this section on the rag by placing it on the tip of the hair and tucking it back upwards. Tie the two ends of the rag and secure the roll. Repeat this process to all the sections of hair around the head. Leave the rag curls overnight or dry the hair using a blow dryer. Undo the curls in the morning and run the fingers to separate the curls. Apply a hair spray.
Foam curlers for getting curls
Foam curlers are similar to rag curlers but are easier to use and less messy. Different sizes of foam curlers can be used to get different size of waves. The curlers need to be rolled on sections of hair and fixed with plastic cross bar or special pins.
