They need to be protected regularly with lip balm or lip gloss. Lip balm and lip gloss help to keep the lips moist and give a shine to the lips.
There are several brands of lip balm and lip gloss available in the market but it has been observed they often contain some harmful chemicals and are also very expensive. Homemade lip balms and lip gloss are made from natural ingredients which are less expensive, more effective and easily available.
Homemade lip balms and Lip gloss
Mint & cocoa butter lip balm
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1 tbsp of cocoa butter
- 1 tbsp of mint pure
- 1 tbsp of almond oil
- ¼ tbsp of Vitamin E oil
- 1 tbsp chocolate pieces
Process: Take the all ingredients in bowl. Put the bowl in oven by adding the 3 tbsp of water in the bowl. In this process mix them with the help of spoon. Let meltdown all the ingredients for 5-7 minutes. Take it out from the oven and place it in refrigerator for 1 hour and apply this balm on the lips of pink rose lips.
Lemon coconut oil lip balm
Ingredients:
- ½ tbsp lemon oil
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp of beeswax
Process: Take the beeswax in small form of small pieces and mix all the ingredients except essential oil with the beeswax. Heat it on the oven for 10 minutes now add the lemon oil to the melted beeswax then kept in the refrigerator and apply when it is cool.
Beeswax and mango butter lip gloss
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp beeswax
- 2 tbsp mango butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 10 drops of lavender oil
Process: Take the water in the pan and boil it for 10 minutes. Now put bowl in the boiled water add all the ingredients and wait for melt down all the ingredients. Finally add the essential lavender oil in the melted ingredients. Keep in cool places and apply to the lips.
Use the natural homemade lips balms and lip gloss in this winter and free from the dry chapped lips.
Basic homemade lip balm is made with beeswax, any carrier oil like sunflower or castor oil, any essential oil like almond oil or olive oil and honey. Carrier oil and beeswax has to be melted in a double boiler or microwave. Then honey and essential oil should be added and mixed properly, Color can be added with a lipstick or rose petals. Leave the mixture in small containers to set.
Shea lip butter—is the perfect agent to moisturize the lips with its creamy consistency. It is the most common lip balm used by women during winter. Shea butter must be whipped well to make it fluffier before use.
Pink lip gloss— This lip gloss is made from beetroot powder which provides a pretty pink color to the lips. Beetroot powder is infused with vegetable glycerin or beeswax to make this pink lip gloss.
Rose and vitamin E lip gloss—is prepared from vitamin E oil procured from the flesh of avocado. Avocado oil is rich in several antioxidants which help to keep the lips moisturized. This oil is mixed with rose geranium essential oil that has a sweet smell and the properties to heal and protect the lips from damage.
Pumpkin pie lip balm is a perfect blend of spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and other spices used in making the pumpkin pie. This balm helps in increasing the blood circulation on the lips for a short period and gives the lips a fuller look.
Coconut and rose balm— the base of this balm is shea butter and coconut oil which is very effective in moisturizing the lips. The vanilla extract is used in it to give it a wonderful flavor. Dried rose petals are infused in coconut oil to prepare this balm. Rose petals provide a scent and pink color to the balm.
Elderberry tinge lip gloss— this lip gloss is made from dark colored elderberry, honey and vegetable glycerin. It is more like lip masks that locks in moisture. The dark purple color of the elderberries give a nice soft pink color to the lip gloss
Honey lip balm is prepared by using shea butter, almond oil, beeswax, chocolate chips and vanilla extract. Mix the oils in a bowl. Melt bees wax and chocolate chips in the microwave and add to the oil mixture. Pour it in a broad mouth container and leave it to solidify. Make regular use of this balm on the lips during winter months.
Lavender Lip Balm can be made with olive oil, almond oil or olive oil. Other essential ingredients include beeswax, vitamin E oil, and lavender essential oil. Heat the oils, honey and beeswax in a steel pot on low flame. When the beeswax has melted put the pan on a bowl of ice water and stirs honey into it. Store in a clean container to set.
Peppermint lip balm is made with few drops of peppermint oil, beeswax pellets and any carrier oil like almond oil or olive oil. Melt the carrier oil and beeswax on slow flame. Put in few drops of peppermint oil. And add a dash of lipstick for color. Pour the mixture in desired containers and leave it to set.
Honey Lip Gloss without beeswax Melt petroleum jelly or Vaseline and honey in the microwave. In another bowl add vanilla extract and few drops of mango and strawberry essence and mix the melted petroleum jelly with it until the mixture becomes soft. Pour the mixture in glass container and put it in the fridge to set.
