Rose water astringent
Take 2 cups of the water and boil the water on the stove for 10 minutes. Take the handful of rose petals in another boil. Put off the stove and pour the boiled water in the rose petals bowl slowly. Vinegar Astringent

Alum astringent
Take the alum and mix the pinch of the camphor to it. Now add the rose water to the mixture. Use this as the astringent for the skin and face.

Orange peel astringent

Chamomile tea acts as a wonderful astringent or toner of the skin. Prepare the astringent by mixing sandalwood powder with almond oil, orange peel powder, baking soda, honey and rose water. Apply the solution on the face with a cotton ball soaked in it. Rinse it well with cold water after a couple of minutes.
Lemon on its own is an excellent astringent but it must be diluted with water before applying on the face to avoid itching and burning. A good recipe of lemon toner is to combine ½ cup lemon juice, 1 cup distilled water and 2/3 cup witchhazel and store it in a glass bottle. Shake and apply daily with a cotton pad.
Pine astringent This astringent can be easily prepared and stored for a long time. Boil pine needles in distilled water and cool it. Strain away the pine needles and store in a glass bottle. Add some witch hazel as well. Dab it on the face with a cotton ball.
Herbal flowers astringent this astringent is prepared with fresh or dried rose petals, lavender flowers, calendula flowers and chamomile flowers. Soak equal amounts of flowers in vodka in a glass jar and pack it. Add witch hazel to the herbs. Shake and leave the jar in a sunny area for 6 weeks and shake it every day. Then strain the mixture and store it in a dark coloured bottled in a cool place and use it as an astringent.
Mint is considered a natural astringent which is used in getting rid of dead skin cells. Mint has the properties to cleanse the skin, enhance the skin tone, and provide a soothing and cooling to the skin. Mint can be infused in vinegar, witch hazel and other astringents to make them more effective.
