Scrubs make an important part of our daily skin care regime. For exfoliating the skin, scrubbing at regular intervals is vital. There are all many fancy cosmetic scrubs available in the market, and you can easily end up spending quite a good sum of money on them. However, if you are looking for the effect and not for the looks or packaging of the product, you can make your own scrub at home, through one of the most common ingredients, the salt. Using Epsom salt or sea salt for the purpose can be very effective as they are more readily absorbed into the skin and also help in reducing skin inflammation. However, if you just want to stick to your table salt, there is no problem in it either. Here is how you can prepare simple and effective salt scrubs at home,

Lemon also has skin lightening properties and hence makes an excellent ingredient for this scrub.
Honey is a natural skin moisturizer with anti-bacterial properties. It also has skin lightening abilities. Adding honey to this salt scrubber ensures that your skin is well moisturized and is not dry due to scrubbing. Olive oil serves the purpose of moisturizing the skin giving it a dose of natural anti-oxidants. You can reduce the percentage of olive oil in the scrub depending on the season and your skin type.
