Bangalore’s power failure has made news for quite a while now. Amidst this, a 45-year-old woman entrepreneur has not only found a way out of the situation, but has also overcome Bangalore Electricity Supply Company’s (Bescom) delay in providing power connection to her industrial unit at Banashankari.
As reported by Bangalore Mirror, Aravindavalli of Nammane Industries has emerged as the first woman industrialist of the state to completely run her industry with solar power. She runs the factory to manufactures bowls, plates, cups and the like from areca leaves in large numbers, which is then supplied to leading caterers and religious institutions across the city.
When Bescom officials delayed in providing power connection to her industry, with investments and her future at stake, she decided to wait no longer. Armed with the knowledge and support from friends, she installed a rooftop solar unit. As a result, today Aravindavalli has emerged as the first woman entrepreneur of Karnataka to completely run her industry with solar power.
